To promote tourism potency in Indonesia each year ”ADWINDO (Asosiasi Duta Wisata Indonesia)” make a contest to select “Duta Wisata” (Tourism Ambassador) from each province in Indonesia. This year Moluccas Province get an honour as host of the event. The event followed by the representative of 21 provinces in Indonesia.

The Government of Moluccas Province, Cultural and Tourism Department of Republic of Indonesia coorporate with “ADWINDO (Asosiasi Duta Wisata Indonesia)”, “Yayasan Duta Wisata Indonesia” held the The “Duta Wisata” (Tourism Ambassador) Election in Ambon City, Moluccas Province from December 1st 2009 to December 6th 2009.

The opening of The “Duta Wisata” Election was held in Baileo Siwalima Karpan – Ambon on December 1st 2009, opened by The Assistant of Social Welfare affairs of Governor Of Maluku. The chain of the events following the opening of The “Duta Wisata” (Tourism Ambassador) Election are; National Seminar On “Duta Wisata” Indonesia on December 2nd 2009 took place at office of The Governor of Maluku , and the Grand Final on December 5th 2009 that took place on Aston Hotel Natsepa – Ambon, the event attended by The General Director of Tourism Destination of Cultural and Tourism Department RI, "Mas & Mbak Jawa Timur" (East Java) selected as "Duta Wisata" (Tourism Ambassador) 2009. The quarantine for the participants of “Duta Wisata” Indonesia 2009 took place in Aston Hotel Natsepa – Ambon. Hopefully the event will increase the awareness of Moluccas People in promoting Moluccas as one of tourism destination in the world.
