Kiloon, Nama, and Wetir beaches
These three white sandy beaches of about 8 kms long are located on the village of Romean 14 miles south of Larat. Approximately 50 mtrs offshore, there are drop-offs until 100 to 250 mtrs depth. The Oravruan strait between the villages of Romean and Kelaan on the island of Larat, has a very strong current and between June and August there are many groups of marlin fishes passed by the strait. On that time, the local people like to organize a marlin traditional fishing tournament using tradisional canoes only.
The regulations of the tournament among others is that the fishes can only be killed with the fist or oar, because it is taboo to use any sharp weapons. During turbulent waves periods between December and February, the Nama beach become wider to the sea along the shore line and forms an atoll, a hiding place for local motorboats.
Megalith Boat
This boat Iies 25 km east of Saumlaki in the village of Sangliat Dol This 5 meters long and 3,5 meter wide Megalith stone boat is ornamented and is a relic from the pre-historic time. Sangbl Dol is situated 75 mirs above the sea level and could be reached by public transportalion
